Abstract

The article is devoted to identifying types of transformation of a literary text in the process of translation. The presented materials are taken from the author's research. The relevance of the stated problem is due to the importance of preserving the adequacy of the source text during translation. The work uses cultural, historical-translation, comparative-historical methods of analysis. The conclusion about many objective (due to the “historical moment”) and subjective (related to the qualifications of the translator and critics) reasons for the transformation of the translated literary text is drawn.
